Please read Philippians 3.
Meditate on verse 14.
I press on toward the goal for the prize
of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Paul’s letter to the Philippian Christians addressed their
attitude. He exhorted them in chapter
two to have the attitude of Christ Jesus and regard others as more important
than themselves (Philippians 2:3-5). In
chapter three, Paul challenged the mature believers to press on in the call of
God in Christ Jesus for their lives.
He said God would reveal wrong attitudes they had.
It is time to check your attitude. Your attitude is the foundation for your
behavior. God knows your attitude; you
cannot hide it from Him. Pride,
rebellion, and dishonesty are a few of the attitudes God hates (Proverbs
6:16-18). You do not want an attitude
that God opposes (James 4:6). Ask God to
reveal attitudes within you that are not pleasing to Him. Then pray Philippians 3:12-15 over yourself
and those for whom you are standing guard as faithful, prayerful watchman
(Isaiah 62:6-7).
“Lord, reveal to
_________ and me
attitudes that are
different from Yours.
Make us mature with
the attitude of Christ.
Jesus, You have laid
hold of us;
for that reason, help
us to press on.
Let us forget what
lies behind
and reach forward to
what lies ahead.
Help us press on
toward the goal
for the prize of Your
upward call, God.
In Christ Jesus~”
