2 Corinthians 12 ~ Praying Scripture

Please read 2 Corinthians 12.
Meditate on verse 9a.

And He has said to me,
“My grace is sufficient for you,
for power is perfected in weakness.”

The church in Corinth was a mess.  Paul wanted to come visit these Christians, but he was afraid when he arrived, he would find strife, jealousy, angry tempers, disputes, slanders, gossip, arrogance, and disturbances (2 Corinthians 12:20).  Paul said that many who had sinned in the past had not repented of their impurity, immorality, and sensuality.  Their unrepentant hearts caused them to engage in other sins like strife, jealousy, and angry tempers.

What is going on in and around you?  Are there disputes, gossip, and arrogance? Ask the Holy Spirit to convict you of unconfessed sins from your past that might be leading to disturbances in your present.

Pray 2 Corinthians 12:9, 20, and 21 over yourself and those for whom you are standing guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman.

“Christ, __________ and I need Your power to dwell in us.
Lord, I repent of the impurity, immorality, and sensuality
I practiced in the past.
Please convict _____________ to do the same.
Let the strife, jealousy, angry tempers, disputes,
slanders, gossip, arrogance, and disturbances cease.
In Your Name, Jesus~”
