Please read 1 Thessalonians 1.
Meditate on verse 2.
We give thanks to God always for all of you,
making mention of you in our prayers.
Paul established the church at Thessalonica amid much
persecution. The believers were falsely
accused, and physical violence was used against them. Paul was sent away from the city and after
going to Berea and Athens, arrived in Corinth (Acts 17). The Thessalonian Christians were still on his
mind and heart. He wrote this letter to
find out how they were holding up under tremendous opposition and to encourage
them that they were not forgotten. He
told them he was always thanking God for them and praying for them. His words were a healing balm to spiritual,
emotional, and even physical wounds.
2000 years later, Christians are still under severe
opposition. Who do you know that is
going through a difficult situation? Who
needs an encouraging word and a reminder that they are not forgotten but being
mentioned in prayer?
Pray 1 Thessalonians 1:2-4, 6-7 over them as a faithful,
prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7) then tell them that you did.
“Lord, thank You for
______________.
Thank You for their
work of faith,
labor of love, and
steadfastness of hope in You, Jesus.
Thank You for loving
them and for choosing them.
Even in the midst of
much tribulation,
let them continue to
receive Your Word
with the joy of the
Holy Spirit,
so they will be an
example to all the believers.
For the sake of Your
name, Jesus~”
