Colossians 3 ~ Praying Scripture

Please read Colossian 3.

Meditate on verse 3.

For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Colossians 3 is rich with truths about who you are in Christ. Please memorize these facts about yourself.

* Christ is your life (v. 4)  If you are REALLY a Christian, then Jesus is NOT part of your life.  Jesus is NOT the top priority in your life.  Jesus IS your life.  Jesus is not a priority.  Priorities can be rearranged.  JESUS IS YOUR LIFE!

*If Christ is your life, then there are things you are dead to (v. 5).  Imagine a dead body in a coffin.  Can a dead body even wiggle?  No!

These are things you cannot be moving in because they no longer live in you.  Christ lives in you!  You are dead to:

1.     immorality

2.     impurity

3.     passion

4.     evil desire

5.     greed

*Also lay aside:

            1.  anger

            2.  wrath

            3.  malice

            4.  slander

            5.  abusive speech

            6.  lying (vs. 8-9)

*Put on:

            1.  a heart of compassion

            2.  kindness

            3.  humility

            4.  gentleness

            5.  patience

            6.  bearing with one another

            7.  forgiveness of one another just as the Lord forgave you

            8.  love (vs. 12-14)

Pray Colossians 3:15-17 over yourself and those for whom you are standing guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, please let the peace of Christ rule in _________ and my hearts.

 Let Your Word dwell in us richly with all wisdom. 

May whatever we do in word or deed be done Your name, Lord Jesus.

We give thanks through You to God the Father.
