Isaiah 60 ~ Praying Scripture

Please read Isaiah 60.
Meditate on verse 1.

Arise, shine; for your light has come,
and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.

Isaiah 60 contains prophecy about the coming of Christ; both His first coming and His future return to earth.  Christ’s return will be a great day for those who have embraced His first coming.  Isaiah describes the future as a time of peace, righteousness, salvation, praise, and everlasting light because of the God of glory, the LORD your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

Today is Palm Sunday.  I call it Lamb Selection Day because 2000 years ago Jesus came into Jerusalem on the day thousands of people were there to select their Passover lambs.  They had to watch the lamb for 4 days to make sure it was acceptable for sacrifice  (Exodus 12:1-6).  It was no accident Jesus arrived on Lamb Selection Day.  The Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world came into Jerusalem on the day people would choose their lambs to die for their sins.  God was saying, “Will you choose My Lamb; the only Lamb that can take away your sins?”

Isaiah announced that the glory of the LORD had come.  God announced that He is the LORD, the Savior, the Redeemer (Isaiah 60:1, 16).

Which lamb do you choose today?  I pray you have chosen the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).

Pray Isaiah 60:16, 19, and 21 over those for whom you are standing guard as a prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, please let ____________________ know
You are their Savior, Redeemer, and Mighty One.
Let them choose You to be their everlasting light and glory.
Make them righteous.
In Your Name, Jesus~”
