Please read Isaiah 56.
Meditate on verse 1.
Thus says the LORD,
“Preserve justice and do righteousness,
for My salvation is about to come
and My righteousness to be revealed.”
The beginning of this chapter is addressed to those of us
who are not Jewish. It is our promise
from the LORD that if we join ourselves to Him, we will not be separated from
His people, and He will give us an everlasting name even better than that of
sons and daughters. These are amazing
Words from our God!
The last half of the chapter is addressed to those God has
appointed as watchmen, but are blind and falling asleep on the job, shepherding
the flock God has given them without understanding. They are selfish shepherds concerned about
their own pleasures.
Examine your life.
Are you ceaselessly praying for those God has entrusted to your watchful
care? Are the words you speak over your
flock the Words of God? Are you more
concerned about your needs and wants or about taking care of others like the
Good Shepherd takes care of you?
Pray Isaiah 56:1-2 over yourself and those for whom God has
appointed you a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, as your
watchman for my family,
help me to preserve
justice and do righteousness.
Thank You for Your
salvation and righteousness.
Let salvation and
righteousness come into the lives of all my family,
and bless us as we
take hold of them.
Bless us as we keep
from profaning Your Sabbath.
Keep our hands from
doing any evil.
In Your Name, Jesus~”
