Numbers 36 - Praying God's Word

Meditate on verses 5-6 and 10.

 

Then Moses commanded the sons of Israel

 according to the word of the LORD, saying,

 "The tribe of the sons of Joseph are right in their

statements.  This is what the LORD has commanded

 concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, 'Let

them marry whom they wish; only they must marry

 within the family of the tribe of their father.'”

 Just as the LORD had commanded Moses, so

 the daughters of Zelophehad did.

 

What a great chapter for leaders and followers!  When the brothers of Zelophehad perceived a problem with the plan for their nieces’ inheritance, they brought their concerns to Moses.  Moses listened, acknowledging the validity of their concerns; then, after getting God’s wisdom on the situation, he offered the solution to the problem.  

 

Ask the LORD to make you a humble leader who listens to the concerns of others and prayerfully seeks God’s solutions.  Ask the LORD to make you a great follower who presents concerns to your leaders instead of passively letting problems grow and cause harm to you and those around you. 

 

Pray Numbers 36:5 and 10 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

 

“LORD, help _________ and me command

 according to Your Word

 and let us do just as You command.

In Your name, Jesus~”
