Please read Genesis 1.
Meditate on verse 1a.
In the beginning God…
The most important thing you will ever think is what you think about
God.
For what you think about God will determine every other aspect of your
life.
—Dr. D. Jeffrey Bingham
What you think about Genesis chapter one will determine how
you think about every other page of God’s Holy Word.
Please answer these questions:
*Who is the
only eyewitness to creation?
*Whose
account is Genesis 1?
*Who said
six times, “There was evening and there was morning, one day”
(Genesis
1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31)?
The answer
to all three questions is: God. God was the only one present at His creation of
the world. He was the eyewitness to what took place 6000 years ago. He spoke
the world into existence. He confirmed that truth in John 1:1-3; Colossians
1:15-17, and Hebrews 1:1-3, and He gave the added insight that Jesus is the
Word of God who spoke. God is the definer of a day, and He told you six times
exactly how long a day is.
Why would
anyone dare question God’s eyewitness account of what He alone did? What do you
think of someone who questions or adds to a story you are telling when they
weren’t even at the event?
As a
follower of the Creator of the universe, Jesus Christ, it is important to take
His first recorded words literally. If you choose not to, you handle carelessly
the rest of His Words, conveniently deciding which ones apply to your life and
which ones do not.
Pray Genesis
1:2-3 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful
watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“God,
apart from You, _________
and I are
formless and void,
and
darkness is over us.
Spirit
of God, move over our lives.
God,
speak Light into us.
In Your
name, Jesus~”

on the WALL ~ Dr. Ron and Marsha Harvell
