Deuteronomy 28 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Deuteronomy 28.
Meditate on verse 2 and 15.

All these blessings will come upon you
and overtake you if you obey the LORD your God.
But it shall come about, if you do not obey the LORD your God,
to observe to do all His commandments
and His statutes with which I charge you today,
that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you.

God carefully instructed the Israelites how to live and please Him. He told them exactly what would happen if they obeyed Him and what would happen if they disobeyed Him. If you are familiar with Israel’s history, you know many times they chose not to obey God. They have experienced the curses of Deuteronomy 28.
It is important to know God well. There are things that make God happy, and there are things that make Him mad. There are behaviors that please God, and there are behaviors that He hates. You get to know God as you read His Word and as you spend your day talking to and listening to Him. The God of the universe who created you wants you to know His thoughts, words, attitudes, actions, and feelings. Your life will be overtaken with blessings as you live with your LORD.
Pray Deuteronomy 28:2,15, and 47 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, may _______ and I obey You.

Let Your blessings come upon us and overtake us.
Help us obey and keep Your commandments and statutes
so curses will not come upon us and overtake us.
May we serve You with joy and a glad heart
for the abundance of all things.

In Your name, Jesus~”
