Isaiah 46 ~ Praying Scripture

Please read Isaiah 46.
Meditate on verses 9 and 10.

Remember the former things long past,
for I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is no one like Me,
declaring the end from the beginning,
and from ancient times things which have not been done,
saying, “My purpose will be established,
and I will accomplish all My good pleasure.”

God challenges you in Isaiah 46 to examine your life to determine what you are trusting to save and deliver you.  Verse one names two idols, Bel and Nebo.  Bel was the main deity of the Babylonians, and Nebo was the god of learning, writing, and astronomy.  People were depending on these idols to rescue them from their burdens.  They had placed their hope in false religion and learning, and it was only adding to their burden.  They found themselves trying to rescue the very things they were hoping would rescue them.

What are you investing time, money, and energy into in hopes it will rescue you and bring you relief?  God is saying to you, “Listen to Me!  You have been borne by Me from birth and have been carried from the womb; even to your old age, I will be the same, and even to your graying years, I will bear you. I have done it, and I will carry you; and I will bear you, and I will deliver you (Isaiah 46:3-4).”

Deliverance comes when you completely acknowledge your total dependence on Almighty God.  Relief comes when you humbly return to the only One Who ever has and ever will save you.

Pray Isaiah 46:12-13 over yourself and those for whom God has appointed you a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, please help me and ____________ to stop being
stubborn-minded and far from righteousness and listen to You.
Bring us near to Your righteousness, salvation, and glory.
In Your Name, Jesus~”
