Psalm 86 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 86.

Meditate on verse 1.

Incline Your ear, O LORD, and answer me;
for I am afflicted and needy.

Psalm 86 is a prayer of David. Perhaps you want to write your name next to David’s in your Bible and make it your prayer, too.
David was afflicted and needy, and he wanted God to help him. Observe David’s prayer requests, and make them your own:
·      Preserve my soul (v. 2).

·      Be gracious to me (v. 3).

·      Make my soul glad (v. 4).
·      Give ear to my prayer (v. 6).

·      Give heed to my supplications (v. 6).
·      Teach me Your way (v. 11).
·      Let me walk in Your truth (v. 11).

·      Unite my heart to fear Your name (v. 11).
·      Turn to me (v. 16).
·      Grant me Your strength (v. 16).
·      Save me (v. 16).

·      Show me a sign for good (v. 17).

·      Help me and comfort me (v. 17).
Reread Psalm 86, saying it as a personal prayer to your LORD.
“Incline Your ear, O LORD, and answer
me; for I am afflicted and needy.
Preserve my soul, for I am a Godly person;

O You my God, save Your servant who trusts in You.

Be gracious to me, O LORD, for
 to You I cry all day long.
Show me a sign for good, that those who
 hate me may
see it and be ashamed,
because You, O LORD, have helped me and comforted me.

In Your name, Jesus~”
