Please read Hebrews 7.
Meditate on verse 25.
Therefore He (Jesus) is able also to save forever
those who draw near to God
through Him,
since He always lives to make
intercession for them.
Notice the doctrines of God in Hebrews 7:26-28. Jesus is:
*High Priest
*Holy
*Innocent
*Undefiled
*Separated
from sinners
*Exalted
above the heavens
*Does
not need to daily offer sacrifices because He offered up
Himself
once for all for your sins
*Perfect
forever
Amazingly, your perfect, holy, undefiled Savior lives to
intercede for you. Jesus is compared to
Melchizedek, a priest and king in the days of Abraham (Genesis 14:18-20). Melchizedek was a priest before God
established the Jewish law or the priestly system. He has no recorded genealogy in the Bible and
no record of his birth or death. He was
a picture for the Israelites of Messiah.
Melchizedek even brought bread and wine to Abraham. God was giving His people a picture of Christ
2000 years before Jesus came to Earth.
The writer of Hebrews wanted to teach his readers about Melchizedek
in chapter 5, but stopped because they were dull of hearing. He decided to explain Melchizedek in chapter
7 anyway. God knew you would have ears to hear.
Jesus, who is a priest forever according to the order of
Melchizedek, is constantly putting in a good word for you, if you belong to
Him. Satan wants to condemn you, but
when you are in Christ, he cannot because Jesus always lives to intercede on
your behalf. In Christ, you can boldly
run to the Father because the Son of God is talking favorably about you to
Him.
Pray Hebrews 7:25 over someone for whom you stand guard as a
faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“Jesus, please let
__________ draw near to God through You.
Save them forever.
Thank You for always
living to make intercession for us.
In Your name, Jesus~”
