Please read 1 Timothy 6.
Meditate on verses 20-21.
O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you,
avoiding worldly and empty chatter
and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called “knowledge”—
which some have professed and thus gone astray from the faith.
Grace be with you.
Paul closed his letter to Timothy with a plea to guard the
Truth entrusted to him. Paul knew
believing ideas in opposition to God’s Word caused people to stray from true faith
in God.
Insert your name in place of Timothy in the verses
above. “O ___________, guard what has
been entrusted to you…”
God is begging you to avoid what the world calls
“knowledge.” If what you are reading and
learning is in opposition to the Bible, it is a lie. God’s Word is timeless Truth; hold fast the
Word of Life, so you will not be deceived by the liar and father of lies
(Philippians 2:16; John 8:44).
Pray 1 Timothy 6:4-5, 11-12 over yourself and those for whom
you are standing guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“Lord, let _________
and me flee from controversial questions,
disputes about words,
envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions,
and constant friction
between men of depraved mind deprived of the truth.
Help us flee from
those who oppose Godliness as a means of gain.
Let us pursue
righteousness, Godliness,
faith, love,
perseverance, and gentleness.
Let us fight the good
fight of faith
and take hold of the eternal life to which we
were called.
Because of Your name,
Jesus~”
