Meditate
on verses 14-15.
This is the
confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His
will, He hears us. And if we know that
He hears us in whatever we ask,
we know that we
have the requests which we have asked from Him.
As you abide in the LORD and
prepare for the New Year, you want your
prayer life to be dynamic. This
year, come confidently to the LORD. Be
the person who is the watchman
on the wall for those you love.
Just as you expect a sentry on
duty guarding a city to be faithful to their
shift, hold yourself to the same
standard of faithfulness. Make each day
a day of faithful prayer for
others. Make lists of individuals you can pray
for each day.
A friend of ours who pastors in
the Middle East showed us his prayer list
on an oversized sheet of paper.
There were hundreds of names in different
categories. He had lists for
salvation, lists for the sick, for ministers, family,
friends ... He discerned which
list needed prayer each morning and spent
that day praying for those
people.
Pray,
with purpose, 1 John 5:14-15 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard
as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, this is the confidence which
_______ and I have before You,
that, if we ask
anything according to Your will, You hear us.
And since we
know that You hear us in whatever we ask,
we know that we
have the requests which we have asked from You.
In Your name, Jesus~”
