Meditate on this phrase from verse 5.
And Jesus seeing their faith…
There is much to see
in Mark 2.
·
Jesus saw
four men’s faith on behalf of a paralytic.
Their faith resulted in forgiveness and healing (vs. 2-12).
·
Everyone saw
the paralytic healed and walking. They
were amazed and glorified God (v. 12).
·
Jesus saw
Levi and invited him to follow Him. Levi
immediately accepted the LORD’s invitation (v. 14).
·
The scribes of the Pharisees saw Jesus eating with sinners. They questioned Him accusingly (vs. 15-16).
·
The Pharisees saw Jesus’ disciples picking grain on the Sabbath. They continued with their skeptical,
faultfinding questions (v. 23-24).
What do you see, and what does Jesus see when He looks at
you? Do you see circumstances, others,
and yourself with cynical negativity? Or
do you see life through faith-filled eyes, proclaiming, “Ah LORD God! Behold You have made the heavens and the
earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You!” (Jeremiah 32:17).
Ask the LORD for His perspective. Intentionally and faithfully follow Him. The LORD will be pleased with what He sees.
Pray Mark 2:5 and 14 over yourself and those for whom you
stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“Jesus, see ________ and my faith and forgive our sins.
Help us to get up and follow You.
In Your name, Jesus~”
