Hebrews 9 - Praying God's Word

Please read Hebrews 9.

Meditate on verses 11-12.

But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation; and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption.

Hebrews 9 is a very powerful chapter.  It teaches that the earthly tabernacle and temples were only models of the ones in heaven.  As you read verse 24 again, catch the purpose of entering this higher tabernacle.

For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands,
a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself,
now to appear in the presence of God for us.

Jesus is seated with God in heaven, making intercession for you and all believers (Hebrews 7:25; 8:1).  He is preparing to come get His children and bring you to your new home (v. 28).

Pray Hebrews 9:11-12, 24, and 28 in thankfulness for Jesus’s loving work for you and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, thank You for entering the more perfect tabernacle for  ________ and me.
Thank You for sacrificing Your blood, obtaining eternal redemption,
and entering the holy place to appear in the presence of God for us.
We eagerly await Your appearing a second time to take us home.
In Your name, Jesus~”
