Please read Proverbs 5
Meditate on verses 18-21
Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth.
As a loving hind and as a graceful doe,
let her breasts satisfy you at all times;
be exhilarated always with her love.
For why should you, my son be exhilarated with an adulteress,
and embrace the bosom of a foreigner?
For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the LORD,
and He watches all his paths.
This passage
of Scripture gives insight into the value of loving one’s spouse with Godly
joy. God shows the clear consequences of the foolish journey to the bed of
someone to whom you are not married. Adultery and fornication bring death.
Adultery brings separation. It ruins lives, all for a momentary thrill of
someone who has no right to meet that need in your life.
Men, do not
invest one moment of your life in the world of pornography. It is a sin against
the LORD, your spouse, and yourself. Single men, likewise, do not invest a
moment of your mind or time to this sinful, shameful display of base behavior.
In addition to sinning against God, it is sinning against the enslaved or
misguided people who are showing their bodies and acting in ways that are only
appropriate for married people. The actor, dancer, or prostitute is loved by
God. Jesus died for them. If they are rescued and their lives turned around,
they are somebody else’s future spouse and a sister or brother of yours in the
LORD.
If you are
married, you should be exhilarated by your husband or wife. Seek God in asking
for His blessings on your private life with your spouse. Be content with God’s
gift to you of this person. Open up your heart and mind to love them joyfully.
It is God’s will for married couples.
Pray
Proverbs 5:18-19 over yourself, if married, and those you know who need to have
God centered marriages, free from lusts outside of marriage, as a faithful,
prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, help the marriage of ___________ and my marriage.
May our fountains be blessed,
and may we rejoice in our spouse.
Let our bodies satisfy our spouse at all times;
Let us be exhilarated always with that love.
In Your name, Jesus~”
