2 John - Praying God's Word

Please read 2 John.

Meditate on verses 5-6.

Now I ask you, lady, not as though I were writing to

you a new commandment, but the one which we

have had from the beginning, that we love one another.

And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments.

This is the commandment, just as you have heard from

the beginning, that you should walk in it.

John addressed the church (lady) with a command for all believers, to walk

in the commandment to love one another.  Jesus said it this way in John

14:21:

“He who has My commandments and keeps them

is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will

be loved by My Father, and I will love him

and will disclose Myself to him.”

There is a remarkable promise in that verse.  If you obey the LORD, then

you love Him, and God loves you in a special way by revealing Himself to

you through Jesus.  Walk with the LORD in step with the Spirit (Galatians

5:25), and you will be able to obediently walk in love every day.

Pray, in the power of the Holy Spirit, 2 John 5-6 over yourself and those

for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-

7).

“LORD, help _________ and me love one another.

Help us lovingly walk according to Your commandments.

In Your name, Jesus~”
