Psalm 94 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 94.

Meditate on verse 19.

When my anxious thoughts multiply within me,

Your consolations delight my soul.

The psalmist asked God questions which you may also have asked:

·      LORD, how long will the wicked exult (v. 3)?

·      He who planted the ear, does He not hear; He who formed the eye, does He not see (v. 9)?

·      He who chastens the nations and teaches man knowledge, will He not rebuke (v. 10)?

·      Who will stand up for me against evildoers and those who do wickedness (v. 16)?

·      Can a throne of destruction and mischief be allied with the LORD (v. 20)?

When you ask God questions, listen for His answers:

·      A pit is dug for the wicked (v. 13).

·      The LORD will not abandon His people (v. 14).

·      Judgment will again be righteous for the upright in heart to follow (v. 15).

·      The LORD is your help, and His lovingkindness will hold you up (vs. 17-18).

·      The LORD is your stronghold and rock of refuge (v. 22).

·      The LORD your God will bring wickedness back on the wicked and
destroy them in their evil (v. 23).

Be consoled by the LORD and His Word and pray Psalm 94:17-19 and 22 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, You are _________ and my help! Our souls

will not dwell in the abode of silence. When our feet

slip, Your lovingkindness, O LORD, will hold us up.

When our anxious thoughts multiply within

us, Your consolations delight our souls. LORD, You

 are our stronghold, and God,

You are the Rock of our refuge, Jesus~”
