Ezekiel 5 - Praying God's Word

Please read Ezekiel 5.

Meditate on verse 3.  The LORD is talking.

“Take also a few in number from them
 and bind them in the edges of your robes.”

Ezekiel again became a living sermon illustration when the LORD had him cut off his hair and beard and divide it into thirds (vs 1-2). The hairs represented the Israelites. One-third would die by plague or famine; one- third would fall by the sword, and one-third would be scattered to the wind as a result of disobeying God (vs. 11-12). But God would spare a remnant, a precious few tucked safely into the edge of His robe. From this remnant would come His Son, to save His people from their sin.
Sadly, the people of Ezekiel’s day experienced God’s wrath because they refused to obey Him. Thankfully, if you are a Christian, you are saved from the wrath of God and bound safely into His righteous robe.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us,
in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood,
we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
—Romans 5:8-9

Use Ezekiel 5:13 to thank God for saving you from His wrath and to pray for those who need to become Christians, so they, too, can be saved from His anger.

“LORD, it is only through Jesus that Your anger is spent;
Your wrath is satisfied, and You are appeased.
Let __________ know that You, the LORD, have spoken in Your zeal.
 Save them so You do not have to spend Your wrath on them.
In Your name, Jesus~”
