Luke 10 - Praying God's Word

Please read Luke 10 with the purpose of finding verses to pray specifically for those you are guarding. The chapters in Luke are long, but if you take about 15 minutes to prayerfully read a chapter, you and those you love will reap eternal results.

Meditate on verse 39.
She had a sister called Mary,
who was seated at the LORD’s feet,
listening to His Word.

Picture Mary gazing into the loving eyes of her LORD, watching His lips form every Word, listening intently, not wanting to miss even an inflection. She was so absorbed by what Jesus said, she did not hear the preparations going on in the kitchen. Martha wanted Jesus to scold her sister for not helping. He instead admonished Martha for being worried and bothered and had Luke describe her as distracted.
Who are you? If the LORD were describing you, what would He say? Would He call you distracted, worried, and bothered? Or would He say you are choosing the one necessary thing, the good part of living life with Jesus—the privilege of listening to His Word?
Pray Luke 10:39-42 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, let _________ and me not be distracted,
worried, and bothered about so many things.

Let us not take for granted
the privilege of listening to Your Word.

Your Word is the one thing necessary for living.

It is the good part.

Thank You that Your Word
will never be taken away from us.

In Your name, Jesus~”
