Please read Psalm 82.

Meditate on verses 1 and 8.
God takes
His stand in His own congregation;
He judges
in the midst of the rulers.
Arise, O
God, judge the earth!
For it is
You who possesses all the nations.
This psalm begins and ends with God judging. The verses in
between address human judges, exhorting them to judge righteously and fairly. The
psalmist, Asaph, reminds these judges of their sacred trust to make Godly
decisions like “sons of the Most High” (v. 6). Asaph tells them not to let
their godlike position to make such important decisions go to their heads
because they are mere men and will die like men (v. 7).
These are important verses for those in the judiciary
system. Pray for those who sit in such authoritative positions to make Godly
decisions and to literally be sons of the Most High through faith in Jesus
Christ (John 1:12; Galatians 3:26).
As a
faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7), pray Psalm 82 over judges and
rulers in your land.
“LORD,
judge in the midst of our rulers.
Do not let our rulers judge unjustly and show
partiality to the wicked.
Let them
vindicate the weak and fatherless and do justice to the afflicted and
destitute. Help them rescue the weak and needy.
May they deliver them out of the hand of the
wicked.
Make our
rulers know and understand.
Let them
not walk about in darkness, so that the foundations of the earth are shaken.
LORD, let them truly be sons of the Most
High, through faith in You, Jesus.
Make them
realize they will die like men
and fall like any one of the princes.
Arise, O
God, judge the earth!
For it is You who possesses all the nations.
Because
You are the Righteous Judge, Jesus~”
