Meditate on verse 14.
Let the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD,
my Rock and my Redeemer.
Do you ever
regret something you said? I’m grieved when I leave a gathering of people or a
conversation with my husband wishing I had not spoken certain things. I have
learned the hard way to whisper this verse in prayer before interacting with
others:
Set a
guard, O LORD, over my mouth;
keep
watch over the door of my lips.
—Psalm 141:3
Psalm 19:1-2
says the heavens are telling about the glory of God; they pour forth speech
that declares the work of His hands. If a star is constantly talking about the
LORD, how much more should the mouth of a person who has been saved by the
Creator of the universe?
As you walk
with Jesus, pray Psalm 19:13-14 over yourself and those for whom you stand
guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD,
keep _________ and me from presumptuous sins; let them not rule over us.
Make us
blameless and acquitted of great transgression.
Let the words of our mouths
and the meditation
of our hearts
be acceptable
in Your
sight, O LORD,
our Rock and our Redeemer,
Jesus
Christ, in whose name I pray ~”
