Galatians 5 - Praying God's Word

Please read Galatians 5.
Meditate on verse 16.

Walk by the Spirit,
and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.

The Christians in Galatia were deceived. There were people in their churches who wanted to subject them to the yoke of slavery of keeping the Law (Galatians 5:1). Paul wanted them to know without a doubt that in Christ they were free; free from the Law and free from sin. He also warned them not to turn their freedom into an opportunity for the flesh.
The result of Christ formed in you is you are led by the Holy Spirit (Galatians 4:19; 5:18). You will stop being led by fleshly desires.
Galatians 5:19 says, “Now the deeds of the flesh are evident.” Paul lists 15 things that are desires set against the Spirit:
1.     Immorality                                         9.  Fits of anger
2.     Impurity                                             10.Selfish ambitions
3.     Sensuality                                          11.Dissensions
4.     Idolatry                                              12.Selfish rivalries
5.     Sorcery                                               13.Envying
6.     Hostilities                                           14.Drunkenness
7.     Strife                                                   15.Carousing
8.     Jealousy
Are you doing things in opposition to the Holy Spirit? Or is your life so full of the evidence of the Holy Spirit there is no more room for that junk?
Pray Galatians 5:16, 22-23, and 25 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, help and me walk by Your Spirit,
so we do not carry out the desire of the flesh.

May Your fruit be evident in our lives:
love, joy, peace,
patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

May we live by Your Spirit.

In Your name, Jesus~”
