Jeremiah 1 - Praying God's Word

Please read Jeremiah 1.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/jer/1/1/s_746001
Meditate on verse 9.

Then the LORD stretched out His hand
and touched my mouth,
and the LORD said to me,
“Behold, I have put My Words in your mouth.”

For the next 52 days, you will read the book of Jeremiah. Jeremiah was a preacher in Jerusalem for 53 years. His ministry started in 627 BC, 22 years before Judah was first conquered by the Babylonians.
God called Jeremiah to preach to people who needed to hear and heed His Word. God put His words in Jeremiah’s mouth and told him to speak everything He commanded him to say (vs. 9, 17). The people would fight against Jeremiah, but he was not to be dismayed; God would deliver him.
If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you have a calling from God. He expects you to obey His plan for your life. Do not be dismayed! The LORD promises to always be with you (Matthew 28:19-20).

Pray Jeremiah 1:7-9 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, help ________ and me stop making excuses.
Everywhere You send us, help us go.
All You command us, let us speak.
Help us not be afraid of people.
Thank You for being with us to deliver us.
Touch our mouths, LORD, and put Your Words into our mouths.
For Your name’s sake, Jesus~”

Psalm 100 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 100.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/psa/100/1/s_578001
Meditate on verses 1 and 5.

Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth.
For the LORD is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
and His faithfulness to all generations.

In the midst of daily life: family, jobs, activities, illness, national and global crises ... it is easy to lose focus on the LORD. Thankfully, God gave you His Psalms, the book of 150 prayers, praises, and songs that declare truth about Him. Psalms helps you regain the focus God expects from His creation. It gives you ways to articulate moments in life too glorious and/or difficult for words. Psalms helps you intimately and genuinely worship your Creator and Savior.
Hopefully the past 100 days, your summer of psalms, have given you the holy habit of meditating on and praising God. Thank Him for what He has taught you and pray Psalm 100 as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“I shout joyfully to You, LORD!
I will serve You with gladness and come before You with joyful singing.

LORD, I know You are God.
You made _________ and me, and not we ourselves.

We are Your people and the sheep of Your pasture.

Let us enter Your gates with thanksgiving and Your courts with praise.
We give thanks to You and bless Your name, for You are good.
Your lovingkindness is everlasting and Your
faithfulness to all generations.

Thank You, LORD Jesus, in Your Holy name~”

Psalm 99 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 99.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/psa/99/1/s_577001
Meditate on verse 9.

Exalt the LORD our God and worship at His holy hill, for holy is the LORD our God.
God expects you to exalt and worship Him because He is holy, great, and awesome (v. 3). There is no one and nothing in the entire universe that compares with Him.
You live in a world where people are easily awe-struck. The presence of actors, athletes, authors, authorities, etc. can create excitement and uproar. But before swooning over a human, keep in mind:
The LORD reigns; let the peoples tremble.

He is enthroned above the cherubim; let the earth shake!
 —Psalm 99:1

The only One worthy of people trembling and shaking is the LORD.  As you ponder Him, realize only He deserves your awe.
Pray Psalm 99:1-5 and 9 in awesome wonder to your LORD.
“LORD, You reign; let the peoples tremble!

You are enthroned above the cherubim; let the earth shake!
LORD, You are great in Zion, and You
are exalted above all the peoples.

Let us praise Your great and awesome name; You are holy.
 Your strength, O King, loves justice; You have established equity;
You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.
Please execute justice and righteousness in our land.

I exalt You, LORD our God, and worship at Your footstool.
You are holy! I exalt You, LORD our God,
and worship at Your holy hill,

For You are holy, LORD our God, Jesus~”

·      His right hand and His holy arm have gained the victory for Him (v. 1).
·      He has made known His salvation (v. 2).
·      He has revealed His righteousness in the sight of the nations (v. 2).
·      He has remembered His lovingkindness and His faithfulness to Israel (v. 3).
·      All the ends of the earth have seen His salvation (v. 3).

You have remembered Your lovingkindness and faithfulness
to the house of Israel. Thank You for remembering Your lovingkindness and faithfulness to my house, too.

All the ends of the earth have seen Your salvation.

Cause ____________ to see Your salvation

come to judge the world with righteousness and equity.

You are worthy of all the shouting, singing, praising, roaring, and clapping,
Our LORD, our King, Jesus~”

Psalm 97 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 97.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/psa/97/1/s_575001
Meditate on verses 9-10a.

For You are the LORD Most High over all the earth;
You are exalted far above all gods. Hate evil, you who love the LORD...

Some of the truths about the LORD from Psalm 97 are:
·      He reigns (v. 1).
·      Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne (v. 2).
·      Fire goes before Him and burns up His adversaries (v. 3).
·      He is LORD of the whole earth (v. 5).
·      The heavens declare His righteousness, and all people have seen His glory (v. 6).
·      He is Most High over all the earth and exalted far above all supernatural powers (v. 9).
·      He preserves the souls of His Godly ones and delivers them from the wicked (v. 10).

Based on these truths about the LORD:
·      Hate evil (v. 10)

·      Be glad in Him (v. 12)

·      Give thanks to His holy name (v. 12)

Pray Psalm 97:9-12 to the LORD as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, You are Most High over all the earth.
You are exalted (praised) far above all gods.
__________ and I love You, LORD, and we hate evil.
We are Your Godly ones; preserve our souls and
deliver us from the hand of the wicked.

Keep us righteous and upright in heart; sow light and gladness for us.
We are Your righteous ones; we will be glad in You, LORD.

We give thanks to Your holy name, Jesus~”

Psalm 96 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 96.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/psa/96/1/s_574001
Meditate on verse 2.

Sing to the LORD; bless His name;
proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.

Psalm 96 answers many questions about worship.
Who is to worship?
   All the earth (v. 1, 9)
Families of the peoples (v. 7)
What is worship?
Singing a new song to the LORD (v. 1)
Blessing His name and proclaiming good tidings of His salvation (v. 2)
Telling of His glory and wonderful deeds (v. 3)
Ascribing to God glory and strength, the glory of His name (vs. 7-8)
Bringing an offering and coming to His courts (v. 8)
Where does worship take place?
Among the nations and all the peoples (v. 3)
   In His courts (v. 8)
When is worship?
• From day to day (v. 2)
Why worship the LORD?
He is great, greatly to be praised, and to be feared above all gods (v. 4).
He made the heavens (v. 5).
Splendor, majesty, strength, and beauty are before Him and in His sanctuary (v. 6).
He is coming to judge the earth, the world, and the peoples in righteousness and faithfulness (v. 13).

How do you worship?
Trembling before Him in holy attire (v. 9) “Put on the
LORD Jesus Christ ...” (Romans 13:14).
By saying, “The LORD reigns; indeed the world is firmly established; it will not be moved. He will judge the peoples with equity” (v. 10).

The heavens, earth, sea and all it contains, field and all that is in it, and all the trees of the forest are worshipping the LORD (vs. 11-12). Join them by starting your worship with Psalm 96:4a.
“LORD, You are great and greatly to be praised ...”

Continue to worship all day, everyday.

Psalm 95 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 95.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/psa/95/1/s_573001
Meditate on verses 7b-8a.

Today, if you would hear His voice, do not harden your hearts ...
In a world full of wickedness and evil, it is tempting to be cynical and calloused; however, God exhorts you not to harden your heart. Heed His Words from Psalm 95:8-11:
“I loathed that hard-hearted generation who had seen My work,
yet they tested and tried Me. They erred in their heart
and did not know My ways. Therefore I swore in My anger,
truly they shall not enter into My rest.”

Hear the LORD speaking to you, and accept His invitation to come into His presence with thanksgiving, joyfully singing and shouting to the Rock of your salvation (vs. 1-2). It is the cure for callousness and the antidote to hard-heartedness.
Come, worship, bow down, kneel before the LORD your Maker (v. 6) and praise Him with Psalm 95:3-5 and 7-8 as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, You are a great God and a great King above
all gods,
in whose hand are the depths of the earth.

The peaks of the mountains are Yours also.
The sea is Yours,
for You made it, and Your hands formed the dry land.

You are _________ and my God!

We are the people of Your pasture and the sheep of Your hand.
Today, let us hear Your voice, and do not let us harden our hearts.
For the sake of Your name, Jesus~”
