Genesis 20 - Praying God's Word

Please read Genesis 20.

Meditate on verse 6.

Then God said to him in the dream,
“Yes, I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this,
and I also kept you from sinning against Me;
therefore I did not let you touch her.”

Here is a prayer warrior’s treasure verse! It is tucked in the middle of Abraham’s story of trying to save himself at the cost of sacrificing his wife to King Abimelech. God’s faithfulness to Abraham was unending, and He rescued Sarah from the king’s harem.
Abimelech tried to justify himself before God by saying he had innocent hands and a heart of integrity. God quickly reminded the king He knew exactly what was in his heart, and He (God) had kept Abimelech from touching Sarah.
Do not be deceived! When the world tells you to “follow your heart,” it is not advice from God. God says this about your heart in Jeremiah 17:9-10a: “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick; who can understand it? I the LORD, search the heart; I test the mind ...”
God has the cure for your heart issues. In Christ, God promises this: “I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am the LORD, and they will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with their whole heart” (Jeremiah 24:7).
Pray Genesis 20:6 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, You know ________ and my heart.
Please keep us from sinning against You.
Do not let us touch what we should not.
In Your name, Jesus~”
