Deuteronomy 7 - Praying God's Word

Please read Deuteronomy 7.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/deu/7/1/s_160001
Meditate on verses 6 and 8a.

For you are a holy people to the LORD your God;
the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession
out of all the peoples who are on the face of the Earth …
because the LORD loved you …

As a believer in Jesus Christ, you, like the Israelites, are holy to the LORD and are His own possession. Like Israel, God chose you because He loves you.
Read these truths about who you are in Christ:
Our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus,

gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed
 and to purify for Himself a people for
His own possession zealous for good deeds.
—Titus 2:13b-14
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
a people for God’s own possession,
 so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him
who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
 for you once were not a people,
but now you are the people of God.
—1 Peter 2:9-10a

As God’s own possession, reread Deuteronomy 7 as if it were written personally to you. Ask God to show you His commands and promises for you and your family.
Pray Deuteronomy 7:9 and 11-12 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, You are my God.
You are God the faithful God.
You keep Your covenant and lovingkindness

to a thousand generations

with those who love You
and keep Your commandments.
Let ________ and me keep the commandment

and statutes and judgments

You are commanding us today to do.

Let it come about because we listen to Your judgments
and keep and do them
that You, LORD our God,
will keep Your covenant
and Your lovingkindness with us.

Because of You, Jesus~”
