Psalm 8 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 8.

Meditate on verse 1.

O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth,
who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens!

Psalm 8 is a beautiful praise written by David. You may have even sung some of the words of this psalm in hymns or other worship songs. David began and ended this song of praise by acknowledging who God is. The LORD, the self-existent and eternal One, was David’s master and superior; He was LORD of David.
The LORD displayed His splendor, and David took notice. As he considered God’s creation, he was humble before the LORD. It amazed David that the LORD would take thought of him and care for him. Yet God not only cared for David and all humans, He even put people in charge of His creation. The LORD is indeed excellent, powerful, and majestic in all the earth!
Perceive and consider the LORD and what He is doing in your life and the lives of those you love. Pray Psalm 8:3-4 and 9 over yourself and them as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, help _________ and me to consider Your heavens,
the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars,
which You have ordained.
Thank You for taking thought of us.
Thank You for taking care of us.
Oh LORD, our LORD, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!
In Your name, LORD Jesus~”
