Psalm 2 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 2.

Meditate on verse 11.

Worship the LORD with reverence
and rejoice with trembling.

Psalm 2 is a Messianic psalm. Notice the references to Jesus: His Anointed (v. 2), My King (v. 6), and My Son (v. 7, 12). Notice the contrasts in this psalm between the kings of the earth and the LORD’s King. The LORD laughs and scoffs at earthly kings who plot against Him (vs. 1-4).
Take comfort from this psalm. The world around you may be in an uproar, and the kings and rulers of the earth may think they are in charge, but the LORD has already installed King Jesus on His holy mountain (v. 6). The nations are His inheritance, and the earth is His possession.
The LORD warns kings and judges (v. 10) to show discernment and worship Him. It is a warning for all to heed accompanied by verses to pray.
Pray Psalm 2:10-12 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, let _______ and me show discernment and pay attention to Your warning.
Help us worship You with reverence and rejoice with trembling.
We give homage to You, Jesus.  We do not want You to become angry with us.
Do not let us perish in the way of Your wrath that will soon be kindled.
Bless us as we take refuge in You.
In Your name, Jesus~”
