Psalm 10 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 10.

Meditate on verse 4.

The wicked, in the haughtiness of his countenance, does not seek Him.
All his thoughts are “There is no God.”

Psalm 10 contains a list describing the wicked.  In arrogance they:
·      boast of their heart’s desire (v. 3).
·      curse and spurn God (v. 3).
·      think there is no God (v. 4).
·      think they will not be in adversity (v. 6).
·      have mouths full of curses, deceit, oppression, mischief, and wickedness
(v. 7).
·      think God will never see their evil deeds (v. 11).

God’s Word says, “The fool has said in his heart, ‘there is no God’” (Psalm 14:1). The wicked are fools in God’s eyes.
Wicked people have not changed in 3,000 years. The list in Psalm 10 could have been just as easily written today to describe evil people. The writer of this psalm appealed to God on behalf of the afflicted and the oppressed.
The LORD is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Appeal to Him with Psalm 10:16-18, as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, You are King forever and ever.
Nations have perished from Your land.
O LORD, hear the desire of _________ and me.
We come to You in humility.  Strengthen our hearts;
incline Your ear to vindicate the orphan and the oppressed,
so that man who is of the earth will no longer cause terror.
In Your name, Jesus~”
