Please read Romans 2.
Meditate on verse 4.
Do you
think lightly of the riches of His
kindness
and tolerance and patience,
not
knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?
Do you
presume upon the LORD’s kindness, forbearance, and longsuffering patience? The
LORD is kind to you because He wants you to repent of your stubborn
selfishness.
Examine
yourself in the light of Romans 2. Do you obey the truth or do you obey
unrighteousness? Are you a hearer of the Word and not a doer of it? Are you a
corrector of the foolish, yet you refuse to correct yourself? Do you take the
LORD’s kindness and patience for granted?
The day of
God’s wrath is coming for those with a stubborn and unrepentant heart.
Do not take
His longsuffering over you lightly. The LORD’s patience will one day cease for
those who refuse His glory, honor, immortality—His offer of eternal life.
Pray Romans
2:4-7 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful
watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD,
may and I stop taking lightly
the riches of Your kindness, tolerance, and
patience.
Please
forgive our stubborn and unrepentant hearts.
We do not want to store up wrath for ourselves
in the day of Your wrath and revelation of
Your
righteous judgment, God.
Help us
to persevere in doing good.
May we
seek Your glory, honor, and immortality, Your eternal life.
In Your
name, Jesus~”
