Isaiah 50 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 50.

Meditate on verse 10.

Who is among you that fears the LORD,

that obeys the voice of His servant,

that walks in darkness and has no light?

Let him trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.

Isaiah 50:4-9 contains prophecy about the coming of Messiah. Without Christ, you are sold into slavery to sin. No man can do anything about it, but God’s hand is not too short that He cannot ransom, and He has the power to deliver (Isaiah 50:1-2). Christ set His face like flint to do whatever it took to save you (Isaiah 50:6-7). What it took was His life given for yours in horrific abuse and death on the cross. The only appropriate response to that sacrifice is to fear the LORD, trust in His name, obey the voice of Jesus, and rely on God (Isaiah 50:10).

Isaiah 50:4-5 is a description of Christ. Pray these verses over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7), asking God to make you more like Jesus.

“LORD God, give ________ and me the tongue of disciples

that we may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. 

Awaken us morning by morning. 

Awaken our ear to listen as a disciple. 

Open our ear and

 do not let us be disobedient or turn back.
