Luke 8 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Luke 8.  Pay careful attention to the repeated words hear and listen. Meditate on this phrase from verse 18.
So take care how you listen.
Have you ever been told you have ears that look like a member of your family? Our daughter has one ear that looks like her daddy’s ear and one ear that looks like mine—it is obvious she is our daughter! Jesus said those who hear the Word of God and do it are His mother and brothers (Luke 8:21). The way you listen makes it obvious whether or not you belong to Christ. So, do you have ears that look like the ears of Jesus?
Did you notice in verse 25 that even the winds and the water hear and obey Jesus Christ? “Oh, LORD, may I listen and obey You like the wind and water do!”
Pray Luke 8:15 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, please let ___________ and me be seed in good soil.
Let us hear Your Word with honest and good hearts;

let us hold it fast and bear fruit with perseverance.
In Your name, Jesus~”

I encourage you to go back and read this chapter with the purpose of finding verses that specifically speak to the needs of your family. I have made several notes in the margin of my Bible that say, “LORD, please do this in my family!”
