Isaiah 52 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 52.
Meditate on verse 8.

Listen!  Your watchmen lift up their voices;
they shout joyfully together,
for they will see with their own eyes
 when the LORD restores Zion.

Answered prayer is cause for rejoicing. God told about a future time when watchmen for Israel will rejoice because of Israel’s restoration. God promised comfort, redemption, and salvation for His people. Because of Jesus Christ, these promises are for you and those for whom you are a watchman. Your comfort is abundant through Christ (2 Corinthians 1:3). You have redemption through the blood of Jesus (Ephesians 1:7). And there is salvation in no other name except Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12).
Keep praying for those God needs to restore. The rejoicing will be worth the time you spend faithfully watching over them in prayer.
Pray Isaiah 52:7 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
 “LORD, make the feet of ________ and me
lovely on the mountains.
Let us bring good news.
May we announce peace and salvation
 and bring good news of happiness.
Let us say to Zion and the rest of the world,
‘Our God reigns!’
Because of Your name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 51 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 51.
Meditate on verses 1 and 4.

Listen to me, you who pursue righteousness,
who seek the LORD;
Look to the rock from which you were hewn
and to the quarry from which you were dug.

Pay attention to Me, O My people,
 and give ear to Me, O My nation;
for a law will go forth from Me,
And I will set My justice for a light of the peoples.

The prophet Isaiah spoke in the first verse giving you Godly advice. God spoke in the fourth verse commanding you to pay attention to Him.
To whom do you pay attention? Where do you turn for advice? What is your first reaction to a troubling or a joyous situation? Do you thank the LORD and ask for His wisdom and help? Are your thoughts filled with the Word of God?
Pray Isaiah 51:7, 12-13, and 15-16 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, You are God our Maker.
The LORD of hosts is Your name.
You stretched out the heavens and laid the foundation of the earth.
You are the One who comforts ________ and me.
Do not let us be afraid of man who dies or of the fury of the oppressor.
Put Your Words in our mouth.
Cover us with the shadow of Your hand.
Make us know righteousness
and put Your Law in our heart.
In Your name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 50 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 50.
Meditate on verse 10.

Who is among you that fears the LORD,
That obeys the voice of His servant,
That walks in darkness and has no light?
Let him trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.

Isaiah 50:4-9 contains prophecy about the coming of Messiah. Without Christ, you are sold into slavery to sin. No man can do anything about it, but God’s hand is not too short that He cannot ransom, and He has the power to deliver (Isaiah 50:1-2). Christ set His face like flint to do whatever it took to save you (Isaiah 50:6-7). What it took was His life given for yours in horrific abuse and death on the cross. The only appropriate response to that sacrifice is to fear the LORD, trust in His name, obey the voice of Jesus, and rely on God (Isaiah 50:10).
Isaiah50:4-5 is a description of Christ. Pray these verses over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7), asking God to make you more like Jesus.

“LORD God, give ________ and me the tongue of disciples
that we may know how to sustain the weary one with a word.
Awaken us morning by morning.
Awaken our ear to listen as a disciple.
Open our ear and
 do not let us be disobedient or turn back.
In Your name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 49 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 49.
Meditate on verses 23b and 26b.

And you will know that I am the LORD;
Those who hopefully wait for Me will not be put to shame.
And all flesh will know that I the LORD, am your Savior
and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

Through the prophet Isaiah, God told the future of Israel. Isaiah 49 is a good news chapter for this beloved nation of His. At different times in history, Israel thought God forgot her, but God promised never to forget Israel (Isaiah 49:15).
If you are a child of God, the LORD never forgets you either. You have the promises of Israel because in Christ, you have been grafted into this relationship with Him (Romans 11). God saved you and redeemed you for His renown and glory, so all flesh will know He is the LORD. In all your ways acknowledge Him (Proverbs 3:6). He loves it when you choose to recognize Him.
Pray Isaiah 49:1-2 and 5 over those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, You called ____________ from the womb.
From the body of their mother You named them.
Make their mouth like a sharp sword.
In the shadow of Your hand conceal them.
Make them a select arrow; hide them in Your quiver.
LORD, You have formed them from the womb to be Your servant.
God, be their strength.
In Your name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 48 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 48.
Meditate on verses 3-5.

I declared the former things long ago,
and they went forth from My mouth,
 and I proclaimed them.
Suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.
Because I know that you are obstinate,
and your neck is an iron sinew and your forehead bronze;
therefore, I declared them to you long ago,
 before they took place I proclaimed them to you,
so that you would not say,
 “My idol has done them, and my graven image
and my molten image have commanded them.”

To whom do you give credit for what is happening in your life? God told Israel if they had paid attention to His commandments, their well-being would have been like a river, and their righteousness like the waves of the sea (Isaiah 48:18).
God wants you to pay attention to Him. Blessings come when you do.
Pray Isaiah 48:17-19 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, You are _______ and my Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
 You are God who teaches us what is best for us.
You lead us in the way we should go.
  Lord, help us to pay attention to Your commandments,
so our well-being will be like a river
and our righteousness like the waves of the sea.
Let our descendants be like the sand;
our offspring like its grains.
May their name never be cut off
or destroyed from Your presence.
In Your name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 47 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 47.
Meditate on verse 4.

Our Redeemer, the LORD of hosts is His name,
The Holy One of Israel.

God used the Babylonians to punish Israel for their idolatrous disobedience to Him. Babylon was merciless in their dealings, so God was mad. “Judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment” (James 2:13).
The Babylonians did not show mercy. They felt secure in their wickedness and knowledge. They were arrogant. “I am, and there is no one besides me,” they said (Isaiah 47:8, 10).
God said, “I am the LORD, and there is no other. I am God, and there is no other” (Isaiah 45:5, 6, 18, 21, 22).
The LORD destroyed Babylon. That world power ceased to exist overnight (Daniel 5:30-31).
There are lessons to be learned from Babylon. God will punish a Babylonian attitude: merciless, arrogant, god of your own life, shamelessly living in wickedness, and wandering in your own way.
As a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7), cry out Isaiah 47:4 for yourself and others who need to be saved from their Babylonian existence.
 “Our Redeemer, the LORD of hosts,
The Holy One of Israel, save ________ and me!
For the sake of Your name, Jesus~”

Isaiah 46 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Isaiah 46.
Meditate on verses 9 and 10.

Remember the former things long past,
for I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is no one like Me,
declaring the end from the beginning,
and from ancient times things which have not been done,
saying, “My purpose will be established,
and I will accomplish all My good pleasure.”

In Isaiah 46, God challenges you to examine your life and determine what you are trusting to save and deliver you. Isaiah 46:1 names two idols, Bel and Nebo. Bel was the main deity of the Babylonians, and Nebo was the god of learning, writing, and astronomy. People hoped these idols would rescue them from their burdens.
What are you investing time, money, and energy into hoping it will rescue you and bring you relief? God says to you, “Listen to Me! You have been borne by Me from birth and have been carried from the womb; even to your old age; I will be the same, and even to your graying years, I will bear you. I have done it, and I will carry you; and I will bear you, and I will deliver you” (Isaiah 46:3-4).
Deliverance comes when you acknowledge your total dependence on Almighty God. Relief comes when you humbly return to the only One who can save and rescue you.
Pray Isaiah 46:12-13 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
 “LORD, please help __________ and me
 stop being stubborn-minded
and far from righteousness and listen to You.
Bring us near to Your righteousness, salvation, and glory.
In Your name, Jesus~”
