Exodus 7 - Praying God's Word

Please read Exodus 7.

Meditate on verse 3.

But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart
that I may multiply My signs and
My wonders in the land of Egypt.

As you read and observe the next seven chapters of Exodus, notice there were times when the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and there were times Pharaoh hardened his own heart. You may find this hardening of a heart difficult to understand, but take God at His Word. He does not need you to make excuses for Him, justify His actions, or change the text of Scripture to fit your idea of what He does or does not do. He is LORD.
Let these verses prompt you to examine your own heart. Would the LORD describe your heart as hard and stubborn, not attending to His Word? Or do you have a tender heart that desires to hear, heed, and obey the Word of the LORD?
Use the words from Exodus 7:3 and 13-14 to pray for yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, please refrain from hardening _________ and my hearts.
Do not let us harden our own hearts.
Help us listen to You.
Let us not have stubborn hearts that refuse to let go.
In Your name, Jesus~”
