Exodus 13 - Praying God's Word

Please read Exodus 13.

Meditate on verse 8.

You shall tell your son on that day, saying,
“It is because of what the LORD did
for me when I came out of Egypt.”

The story of your salvation continues in Exodus 13. The day after eating the Passover lamb, the Israelites removed anything with leaven (yeast) from their midst. Paul explained the symbolism behind this Feast of Unleavened Bread in 1 Corinthians 5:6-8:
Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the
whole lump of dough?  Clean out the old leaven so
that you may be a new lump, just as
you are in fact unleavened.
For Christ our Passover also has been sacrificed.
Therefore, let us celebrate the feast, not with old
leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness,
but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Before becoming a Christian, you were enslaved to sin. When you chose the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, He took away your sins, freeing you from enslavement to them. God’s glorious freedom in Christ lets you remove leaven (sin) from your life as you wholeheartedly live for Him.
Pray Exodus 13:7-8 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, do not let any leaven (sin) be seen among ________ and me.
Let us tell others we are getting rid of sin
because of what You did for us
when You brought us out of slavery to sin.
Because of You, our Passover Lamb, Jesus~
