Acts 8 - Praying God's Word

Please read Acts 8.

Meditate on verse 23.

For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness
and in the bondage of iniquity.

In Acts 8, you read that Saul ravaged the church, and the believers scattered. As they were scattered, they preached the Word. God used the scattering caused by persecution to scatter His Word throughout the world. Be aware and thank God for how He is working even in the midst of trials.
Acts 8 also recorded that Peter discerned a man named Simon who had a heart not right before God. Peter described Simon being in the gall (the bile and poison) of bitterness.
The byproduct of bitterness is bilious poison. Allowing bitterness to take root in your life will put you in a toxic prison where God never intended you to dwell. Allow the Holy Spirit to examine your heart and reveal its intentions. Ask Jesus to remove any bitterness and wickedness. God exhorts you in Hebrews 12:15 to make sure no root of bitterness springs up causing trouble and defiling many.
Pray Acts 8:21-23 and 25 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, my heart and the heart of ________ are not right before you.
Help us repent of wickedness.
Please forgive the intentions of our hearts.
Remove the gall of bitterness
and the bondage of iniquity from us.
LORD, may we solemnly testify and speak Your Word,
preaching the Gospel to many.
In Your name, Jesus~”
