Jeremiah 27 - Praying God's Word

Please read Jeremiah 27.

Meditate on verse 5.  God is speaking.

I have made the earth, the men, and the beasts
which are on the face of the earth
by My great power and by My outstretched arm,
and I will give it to the one who is pleasing in My sight.

God gave Jeremiah a sermon to preach with bonds and yokes on his neck (vs. 1-2). The main point of the sermon was God would give the land to one pleasing in His sight, and the people were to serve whom God chose. God chose Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. He was a terrorist ruler who tortured and murdered his enemies (2 Kings 25). God was pleased to use this man to punish His people for refusing to hear and heed His Word.
As Jeremiah preached God’s Word, false prophets told the people they would not serve the king of Babylon (v. 9). However, God’s Word prevailed, and He used Nebuchadnezzar to subdue and bring His people back in line with His will.
Are you or someone you love in a yoke and bond situation? What is the LORD teaching you? Is He drawing you out of sin and into a right relationship with Him? Jesus Himself said, “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me” (Matthew 11:29a).
Pray Jeremiah 27:5 and 12 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, You have made the earth, the men, and the beasts
which are on the face of the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm.
Make _________ and me pleasing in Your sight.
Let us bring our necks under Your yoke, King Jesus,
and serve You and Your people, so we will live!
Because of Your name, Jesus~”
