Please read Isaiah 30.
Meditate on verses 1, 9, and 10.
“Woe to the rebellious children,” declares the LORD,
“who execute a plan, but not Mine,
and make an alliance, but not of My Spirit,
in order to add sin to sin.”
For this is a rebellious people, false sons,
sons who refuse to listen to the instruction of the LORD;
who say to the seers, “You must not see visions;”
and to the prophets,
“You must not prophesy to us what is right,
speak to us pleasant words, prophesy illusions.”
God’s Word
is timeless. Isaiah was prophesying 2,700 years ago, yet these words describe
people living today. How often do you execute a plan without making sure it is
God’s plan for your life? Do you listen to the LORD’s instructions? Do you want
to hear what is right in the sight of Almighty God, or would you rather hear
teaching that is pleasant to your ears, so you can continue in the illusion you
are doing okay with God? Would God describe you as a true child of His or as a
rebellious, false child?
Pray Isaiah
30:15 and 21 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful,
prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD God, the Holy One of Israel,
in repentance and rest ________ and I will be saved,
in quietness and trust is our strength.
Make us willing to live that truth.
Tune our ears to hear and obey Your Word when it says,
‘This is the way, walk in it,’
whenever we turn to the right or to the left.
In Your name, Jesus~”
