Please read Genesis 22.
Meditate on this phrase from verse 5.
We will worship.
God
purposely uses the words love, obey, and worship for the first
time in Genesis 22. They are used in the context of sacrifice. They are used in
the context of a man not withholding from God what appeared to be most precious
to him because God was most precious to Abraham, not Isaac.
Worship carries with it the idea of prostrating
yourself or laying yourself down before God. What is God telling you to lay
down before Him? What does He want you to give up because it is more precious
to you than He is?
Abraham
literally laid Isaac on the altar (Genesis 22:9). This was visual proof that
Abraham loved God more than anybody or anything else. He would obey God
no matter the cost. Abraham worshipped God. And God blessed Abraham
(Genesis 22:17).
What do you
need to stop withholding from God? Christmas is the season of giving. Use this
time to give God everything out of obedience and love for Him, so you can live
a life of true worship.
Pray Genesis
22:1 and 16-17 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful,
prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD,
when You call,
let _________ and my
response be, “Here I am.”
Help us
stop withholding __________ from You.
We want You
to bless us!
In Your
name, Jesus~”

on the WALL ~ Dr. Ron and Marsha Harvell
