Hosea 8 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Hosea 8.
Meditate on verses 6-7a and 12.

For from Israel is even this!  A craftsman made it, so it is not God.
Surely the calf of Samaria will be broken to pieces.
For they sow the wind, and they reap the whirlwind.
Though I wrote for him ten thousand precepts of My law,
they are regarded as a strange thing.

It is interesting what happens to people when they abandon truth for thoughts and ways that are not true. They work with great effort to justify and validate belief systems that do not make sense at all. Idolatry is so obviously silly. If one makes something from wood, silver, or marble and claims it is God, then how does the crafted item become the creator of the craftsman? The Israelites created idols and sowed for themselves a harvest of disaster.
God abhorred idol worship because He knew humans would rather trust what they could see and touch than trust Him. Idolatry caused the people to stop worshipping the LORD in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).
This was certainly the case with Baal worship. The sacrifices were offered locally (no long road trip to Jerusalem), temple prostitution was a part of the celebration, and stone pillars and groves of trees contained the gods of their worship. Worship made easy!
In their idol worship, Israel lost track of God’s Law and subsequently God Himself. God’s precepts were strange to the Israelites. They wondered why their offerings were not accepted. They forgot their Maker and His Law.
It is important for you and those you love to learn to maneuver and operate in the spiritual realm of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Pray for your loved ones to develop a strong spiritual life. Continue to invest your life in the Word of God and prayer!
Pray Hosea 8:7a and 12 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, let ______ and me not sow the
wind and reap the whirlwind.

Thank You that You wrote and gave us ten thousand precepts of Your Word.

Let them never be regarded as a strange thing in our lives.
In Your name, Jesus~”
