Please read Hosea 11.
Meditate on verses 1 and 10-11.
“When Israel was a youth I loved him, and out of Egypt I called My son.
They will walk after the LORD.
He will roar like a lion;
indeed He will roar, and His sons will come trembling from the west.
They will come trembling like birds from Egypt
and like doves from the land of Assyria;
and I will settle them in their houses,” declares the LORD.
Chapter 11
is a very tender passage that gives you insight into the pain God was going
through judging Israel, also called Ephraim.
~In verse 1,
God revealed that He loved Israel when Israel was a youth in Egypt.
~In verse 3,
God taught Israel to walk. He carried them in His arms and was their healer.
~In verse 4,
God led Israel with bonds of love. He lifted the yoke from their mouth and bent
down to feed them.
~In verses
8-9, God spoke with great sadness and passion:
How can I
give you up, O Ephraim? How can I surrender you, O Israel?
My heart
is turned over within me. All my compassions are kindled.
I will
not execute My fierce anger. I will not destroy Ephraim again.
Despite the
sins of Israel and Judah, the Holy One is faithful (Hosea 11:12). Despite your
unfaithfulness, God is faithful! He is faithful to forgive you of all
unrighteousness and to finish the work He started in you. God is faithful!
Pray Hosea
11:1 and 3 over those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful
watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, You
have loved ________ from their youth.
Call them
out their slavery to sin.
Teach
them how to walk with You.
Take them
in Your arms.
Please
heal them, LORD.
Because
You are faithful, Holy One~”

on the WALL ~ Dr. Ron and Marsha Harvell
