Please read 1 Peter 4.
Meditate on verse 7.
The end of all things is near;
therefore, be of sound judgment
and sober spirit
for the purpose of prayer.
Instead of
living for the lusts of men, it is time to live for the will of God. Before you
became a Christian, you had time to live like an unbeliever, pursuing
sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties, and abominable
idolatries (1 Peter 4:3). As a follower of Jesus Christ, you should not be
wasting your time doing those activities. Even if old friends make fun of you
for not running with them in ungodly pleasures, do not be swayed from the
abundant life God desires for you. If you are consumed in the pursuit of the
things of this world, the things of God will not consume you. Ask God to give
you an eternal perspective. Time is short; God wants you to focus on things
that will positively impact His Kingdom.
Pray 1 Peter
4:7-11 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful,
prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD,
the end of all things is near,
so give ________ and me sound judgment
and a sober
spirit
for the purpose of prayer.
Help us
keep fervent in our love for one another
because love covers a multitude of sins.
Let us be
hospitable to one another without complaint.
With the
gifts You have given us,
let us
serve one another as good stewards of Your grace.
May we
speak Your utterances, God.
May we
serve by the strength You supply,
so that
in all things You will be glorified through Jesus Christ.
To You, Jesus, belongs the glory and
dominion
forever and ever. Amen~”

on the WALL ~ Dr. Ron and Marsha Harvell
