Please read Isaiah 14.
Meditate on verse 24.
The LORD of hosts has sworn saying,
“Surely, just as I have intended
so it has happened,
and just as I have planned so it will stand.”
Isaiah 14 is
a great chapter for building your trust in God. It contains prophecy fulfilled:
the destruction of Babylon, its king and inhabitants, and the destruction of
Assyria; all things that history records as true. The chapter also contains
prophecy yet to be fulfilled concerning the oppressor. I believe God gave the
prophecy concerning the oppressor, the king of Babylon, to also be prophecy
about the coming destruction of the oppressor, Satan. Read the chapter again
carefully and decide what you believe.
However you
interpret the prophecies, the theme of the chapter is clear:
The LORD of hosts has planned,
and who can frustrate it?
~Isaiah 14:27
Let that be a theme in your life.
Pray Isaiah 14:7, 24, and 27 over yourself and those for
whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, I trust You for my life and the life of ____________,
that no one can frustrate the plans You have planned for us.
We look forward to the day the whole earth is at rest and is quiet,
when we break forth into shouts of joy.
As we wait, we rest in the confidence that
just as You have planned, so it will stand.
In Your Name, Jesus~”
