Proverbs 8 - Praying God's Word

Please read Proverbs 8.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/pro/8/1/s_636001
Meditate on verse 13.

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; pride and arrogance
and the evil way and the perverted mouth, I hate.

Pray Proverbs 8 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, let ______ and me possess Your wisdom.
Let us speak noble things;
 let the opening of our lips reveal right things.
Let our mouths utter truth,
 and let wickedness be an abomination to our lips.
Let all the utterances of our mouth be in righteousness;
 let there be nothing crooked or perverted in them.
  LORD, Your wisdom is straightforward to us
 who understand and right to us who find knowledge.
 May we choose Your instruction and not silver;
may we choose knowledge rather than choicest gold.
 For Your wisdom is better than jewels,
and all desirable things cannot compare with her.
 LORD, let us dwell in wisdom, prudence, knowledge,
 discretion, and the fear of You.
 Let us hate evil, pride, arrogance, and the perverted mouth.
 LORD, give us Your counsel, sound wisdom,
 understanding, and power.
Let us love Your wisdom and diligently seek her,
 for in her are riches, honor,
 enduring wealth, and righteousness.
 Her fruit is better than pure gold,
 and her yield is better than choicest silver.
 In Your wisdom is the way of righteousness
and the paths of justice.
 Endow us with wealth as we love Your wisdom.
 Let her fill our treasuries.
 LORD, let us listen to Your wisdom,
for blessed are those who keep her ways.
 Let us heed instruction and be wise;
do not let us neglect it.
 Bless us as we listen to Your wisdom.
 Let us watch daily at her gates
and wait at her doorposts.
For those who find her find life
 and obtain favor from You,
but those who sin against
Your wisdom injure themselves;
 those who hate her love death.
LORD, we want Your life and favor!
 Give us Your wisdom!
In Your name, Jesus~”

Proverbs 7 - Praying God's Word

Please read Proverbs 7.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/pro/7/1/s_635001
Meditate on verse 2.

Keep my commandments and live,
 and my teaching as the apple of your eye.

Pray Proverbs 7 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, help _______ and me keep Your Words
and treasure Your commandments within us.
Let us keep Your commandments and live;
 let us keep Your teaching as the apple of our eye.
 Let us bind them on our fingers
 and write them on the tablet of our hearts.
Make Your wisdom our sister
and understanding our intimate friend,
 that they may keep us from an adulteress,
from the foreigner who flatters with her words.
LORD, do not let us be naïve and lack sense!
Do not let us be seized by
 the boisterous and rebellious!
LORD, protect us from seduction!
 Do not let us follow a harlot
 as an ox goes to the slaughter,
 or as one in fetters goes to the discipline of a fool.
 Do not let our choices become
 an arrow that pierces our livers.
 Do not let us be like a bird
hastening to the snare.
Keep us from choosing things and people
 that will cost us our lives!
LORD, let us listen to You and pay
 attention to the Words of Your mouth.
 Do not let our hearts turn aside
 to the ways of the adulteress;
do not let us stray into her paths.
For many are the victims she has
cast down, and numerous are all her slain.
Her house is the way to Sheol, descending
 to the chambers of death.
LORD, let our house be filled with
Your Life, leading others to You.
For the sake of Your name, Jesus~”

Proverbs 6 - Praying God's Word

Please read Proverbs 6.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/pro/6/1/s_634001
Meditate on verse 20.

My son, observe the commandment of your father
 and do not forsake the teaching of your mother.

Pray Proverbs 6 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, do not ________ and me become surety for a neighbor,
nor give a pledge for a stranger.
 Do not let us be snared and caught with the words of our mouth.
As we humble ourselves, deliver us, LORD.
 Do not let us be sluggards.  Make us wise.
Keep us from the worthless, wicked person
who walks with a perverse mouth, winks with his eyes,
 signals with his feet, and points with his fingers.
 Keep us from one who with perversity in his heart
 continually devises evil and spreads strife
 because his calamity will come suddenly;
 instantly he will be broken, and there will be no healing.
LORD, keep us from the six things which You hate;
yes, from the seven which are an abomination to You:
haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
 hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked plans,
feet that run rapidly to evil,
 a false witness who utters lies,
 and one who spreads strife among brothers.
LORD, let us and our children observe the
 commandments of our fathers
and not forsake the teaching of our mothers.
 Let us bind them continually on our hearts
and tie them around our necks.  When we walk about,
let them guide us; when we sleep, let them watch over us;
 when we awake, let them talk to us.
 For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light;
 and reproofs for discipline are the way of life
 to keep us from the evil woman,
 from the smooth tongue of the adulteress.
 Do not let us desire her beauty in our hearts,
nor let her capture us with her eyelids.
 For on account of a harlot, one is reduced
 to a loaf of bread, and an adulteress hunts for the precious life.
 Do not let us take fire in our bosom
and our clothes be burned.  Do not let us walk on hot coals
and our feet be scorched.  Do not let us go
 in to our neighbor’s wife; we do not want to be punished.
Do not let us be thieves.  Do not let us lack
sense and destroy ourselves by committing adultery;
 we do not want such wounds, disgrace,
and reproach that will not be blotted out.
In Your name, Jesus~”

Proverbs 5 - Praying God's Word

Please read Proverbs 5.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/pro/5/1/s_633001
Meditate on verse 7.

Now then, my sons, listen to me
 and do not depart from the words of my mouth.

Pray Proverbs 5 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, let ________ and me give attention to
 Your wisdom and incline our ears to Your understanding;
 that we may observe discretion and our lips reserve knowledge.
 Do not let us listen to the lips of an adulteress
 which drip honey, whose speech is smoother than oil;
but in the end, she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
Keep us away from her because her feet go down to death;
 her steps take hold of Sheol.  She does not ponder
 the path of life; her ways are unstable;
she does not know it.
Let us listen to You, LORD and not depart
 from the Words of Your mouth.
Keep our way far from the adulteress;
do not let us go near her house.
Do not let us give our vigor to others
 and our years to the cruel one.
 Do not let strangers be filled with our strength
or our hard-earned good go to the house of an alien,
 so we groan at our final end, when
 our flesh and body are consumed.
Do not let us hate instruction
 and our hearts spurn reproof!
Let us listen to the voice of our teachers
 and incline our ears to our instructors!
Keep us from utter ruin in the midst
 of the assembly and congregation.
Let us drink water from our own cistern
 and fresh water from our own well.
Do not let our springs be dispersed abroad or
 our streams of water be in the streets.
 Let them be ours alone and not for strangers.
 Let our fountain be blessed and let our men
 rejoice in the wife of their youth.
 As a loving hind and a graceful doe, let her breasts
 satisfy her husband at all times.
 Let her husband be exhilarated always with her love.
 Do not let us be exhilarated with an adulteress
and embrace the bosom of a foreigner.
 For our ways are before Your eyes, LORD,
and You watch all our paths.
Do not let us be the wicked, captured by
 our own iniquities and held with the cords of our sin.
 Do not let us die for lack of instruction;
 do not let us go astray in the greatness of our folly,
In Your name, Jesus~”

Proverbs 4 - Praying God's Word

Please read Proverbs 4.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/pro/4/1/s_632001
Meditate on verse 24.

Put away from you a deceitful mouth and put devious speech far from you.

Pray Proverbs 4 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, let __________ hear the instruction of a father
 and give attention to gain understanding.
 Help ______ and me give the children in our lives sound teaching.
Do not let them abandon our instruction.
Let their hearts hold fast to our words;
 let them keep our commandments and live.
LORD, help them acquire wisdom and understanding!
 Do not let them forget nor turn
 away from the words of our mouths.
Let us not forsake Your wisdom, God,
for she will guard us.  Let us love her, and she will watch over us.
 The beginning of wisdom is to acquire wisdom.
 As we acquire wisdom, help us get understanding.
When we prize Your wisdom, God, she will exalt us.
She will honor us if we embrace her.
 She will place on our heads a garland of grace.
 She will present us with a crown of beauty.
Let our children hear and accept what we say,
 so the years of their lives may be many.
  Let us direct them in the way of wisdom.
  Let us lead them in upright paths.
When they walk, let their steps not be impeded,
 and if they run, do not let them stumble.
 Let them take hold of Your instruction and not let go.
Let them guard Your instruction, for she is their life.
 Do not let them enter the path of the wicked
 nor proceed in the way of evil men.
 LORD, make them avoid it; do not let them pass by it;
 make them turn away from evil and pass on.
 Keep us on the path of the righteous!
It is like the light of dawn, that shines
brighter and brighter until the full day.
Oh, LORD, let our children give attention to
our words and incline their ears to our sayings.
Do not let them depart from their sight;
 keep them in the midst of their hearts.
Let what we say be only Your Words, LORD,
 for Your Words are life to those who find
them and health to all our body.
 Let us watch over our heart with all diligence,
 for from it flows the springs of life.
 Put away from us a deceitful mouth,
and put devious speech far from us.
  Let our eyes look directly ahead,
 and let our gaze be fixed straight in front of us.
Let us watch the path of our feet,
 so all our ways will be established.
Do not let us turn to the right
nor to the left; turn our feet from evil.
In Your name, Jesus~”

Proverbs 3 - Praying God's Word

Please read Proverbs 3.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/pro/3/1/s_631001
Meditate on verse 7.

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
 fear the LORD and turn away from evil.

Pray Proverbs 3 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, do not let             and me forget Your teaching;

may our hearts keep Your commandments,

for length of days, years of life,

 and peace they will add to us.

Do not let kindness and truth leave us;
bind them around our necks and write them
 on the tablets of our hearts, so we will
find favor and good repute in the sight
of You and man.  Help us trust You, LORD,
with all our hearts; do not let us lean
 on our own understanding.
In all our ways, let us acknowledge You,
 so You will make our paths straight.
Do not let us be wise in our own eyes; let us fear You and turn away from evil.
Let the fear of You, LORD, bring healing to our bodies and refreshment to our bones.
Let us honor You from our wealth and from the first of all our produce, so our barns will be filled with plenty and our vats overflow with new wine.
Do not let us reject Your discipline, LORD,
or loathe Your reproof, for You reprove those You love, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.
LORD, bless us as we find wisdom and gain understanding.
May we profit from her more than
from silver, gold, and jewels.  May we desire nothing
more than Your wisdom and understanding, God.
In Your wisdom are: long life, riches, honor,
pleasant ways, and paths of peace.
Let Your wisdom be a tree of life to us as we take hold of her; let us be happy as we hold her fast.
LORD, by wisdom, You founded the earth; by understanding, You established the heavens.
By Your knowledge, the deeps were broken up,
 and the skies drip with dew. LORD, let us keep
sound wisdom and discretion; do not let them
 vanish from our sight.  Let them be life to our souls
 and adornment to our necks.  Let us walk
 in our way securely; do not let our feet stumble.
When we lie down, do not let us be afraid;
 let our sleep be sweet.  Do not let us be afraid
of sudden fear nor of the onslaught
of the wicked when it comes.
LORD, You will be our confidence; You will keep our feet from being caught.
Let us not withhold good when it is in
 our power to do it.  Do not let us devise harm against
our neighbor. Let us not contend with others
without cause, if they have done us no harm.
Do not let us envy a violent man or choose any of his ways.
The devious are an abomination to You, LORD,
 but You are intimate with the upright.
LORD, make us righteous!
You bless the dwelling of the righteous.
Please give us Your grace when we are afflicted
and make us wise, so we can inherit
honor rather than display dishonor.
Because of Your name, Jesus~”

Proverbs 2 - Praying God's Word

Please read Proverbs 2.
www.blueletterbible.org/nasb/pro/2/1/s_630001
Meditate on verse 2.

Make your ear attentive to wisdom;
incline your heart to understanding.

Pray Proverbs 2 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, let ______ and me receive Your Words
 and treasure Your commandments within us.
Make our ears attentive to wisdom;
 incline our hearts to understanding.
May we cry for discernment
and lift our voices for understanding;
 let us seek her as silver and search for her
 as for hidden treasures, so we will discern
 the fear of You, LORD, and
discover Your knowledge, God.
 For LORD, You give wisdom; from
Your mouth come knowledge and understanding.
 You store up sound wisdom for the upright;
 You are a shield to those who walk in integrity.
 You guard the paths of justice,
 and You preserve the way of Your Godly ones.
 Make us Your Godly ones!
Let us discern righteousness and justice
and equity and every good course.
 Let wisdom enter our hearts and knowledge
 be pleasant to our souls.
Let discretion guard us,
and understanding watch over us.
LORD, deliver us from the way of evil,
 from the man who speaks perverse things,
 from those who leave the paths of uprightness
to walk in the ways of darkness.
 Deliver us from those who delight in doing evil,
who rejoice in the perversity of evil.
Deliver us from those whose paths are crooked
and who are devious in their ways.
 Deliver us from strange women, from the adulteress
who flatters with her words, who leaves the
companion of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God.
LORD, may we always remember Your covenant,
so our homes will not sink down to death,
 and our tracks will not lead to the dead.
 We want to reach the paths of life!
 Let us walk in the way of good men
 and keep to the paths of the righteous,
 for the upright will live in the land,
 and the blameless will remain in it.
 LORD, cut off the wicked from the land
and uproot the treacherous.
For the sake of Your name, Jesus~”
