Meditate on verses 25-26.
For what I fear comes upon me, and
what I dread befalls me.
I am not at ease, nor am I quiet, and
I am not at rest, but turmoil comes.
For the next 36 days, you have the privilege of listening in on the conversation between Job, Eliphaz, Bildad, Zophar, and Elihu. You may want to make note in your Bible of which one of the five is speaking. At the end of their discourse, God reveals His thoughts. Before you read any further, you need to know what God thinks about Job and his friends:
It came about after the LORD had spoken these
words to Job, that the LORD said to Eliphaz
the Temanite, "My wrath is kindled against you
and against your two friends, because you have not
spoken of Me what is right as My servant Job has.
Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls
and seven rams, and go to My servant Job, and
offer up a burnt offering for yourselves, and My
servant Job will pray for you. For I will accept
him so that I may not do with you according to
your folly, because you have not spoken of Me
what is right, as My servant Job has."
—Job 42:7-8
Keeping God’s Words in mind, learn from Job’s friends what not to say when someone is hurting and learn from Job how to handle difficulty.
Pour out your heart to the LORD with Job 3:25-26 as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“LORD, what I fear comes upon me,
and what I dread befalls me.
I am not at ease, nor am I quiet, and
I am not at rest, but turmoil comes.
Thank You that I can pour out my heart to You, Jesus~”
