Deuteronomy 30 - Praying God's Word

Please read Deuteronomy 30.

Meditate on verses 19b-20a.

So, choose life in order that you may live, you

and your descendants, by loving the LORD your God,

by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him,

for this is your life and the length of your days.

When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you

also will be revealed with Him in glory.

—Colossians 3:4

God gave His people choices in this chapter: life or death; prosperity or adversity; the blessing or the curse.  The choice seems easy; however, history and the Bible record that many in Israel chose to disobey the LORD rather than obey, resulting in the curse, adversity, and death.

Now 3,500 years later, the LORD still offers the same life or death choice to people, with the added insight that Jesus Christ is Life, and apart from Him is adversity and the curse of death.  The choice seems easy; however, many choose not to follow Him, but rather they follow a path leading to destruction.

As a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7), pray Deuteronomy 30:2-3, 6, and 14 over those you love to make the right choice.

“LORD my God, may ___________ return to You and obey You

with all their heart and soul.  Restore them from captivity

to sin and have compassion on them and gather them

to Yourself, LORD.  Circumcise their heart to love You

with all their heart and with all their soul, so they may live.

Let Your Word be very near them, in their mouth

and in their heart, that they may observe it.

May they choose Life in Your name, Jesus~”
