Psalm 6 - Praying God's Word

Please read Psalm 6.

Meditate on verse 9.

The LORD has heard my supplication.
The LORD receives my prayer.

David was having a difficult time when he wrote Psalm 6. He admitted the LORD was rebuking and chastening him. His soul and body were dismayed. He was deeply grieved. Adversaries and enemies were bothering him.
In the midst of his distress, David called on God to save him because of His lovingkindness. David knew his own merits could not save him. Only if God chose to give David His unmerited lovingkindness and grace, would David be saved from his distressful situation exacerbated by sin.
What is happening in your life? Is the LORD reprimanding and correcting you? Come humbly to the LORD in repentance; you can be confident He hears and receives your prayers.
Pray Psalm 6:2 and 4 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, be gracious to ________ and me, for we are pining away.
Heal us, O LORD, for our bones are dismayed.
 Return, O LORD, rescue our soul;
save us because of Your lovingkindness.
For the sake of Your name, Jesus~”
