Please read 1 Timothy 3.
Meditate on verse 15.
But in
case I am delayed, I write so that you will know how one ought
to conduct himself in the household
of God, which
is the church of the living God,
the
pillar and support of the truth.
1 Timothy
3:15 contains the definition of church. The church of the living God is the
household of God and the pillar and support of the truth. Does your church fit
that description? Does it take a stand for the truth of God’s Word, or does it
capitulate to worldly ideology because the members are more afraid of offending
people than offending God? Pray for your church to be a pillar of truth and for
the members to possess the 25 Godly characteristics listed in this chapter.
Pray 1
Timothy 3:2-11 and 15 over yourself and your church as a faithful, prayerful
watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).
“Living
God, let Your church, Your household, be the pillar and support of the truth. Establish these characteristics in me and the other members of Your church:
*above reproach
*husband of one wife
*temperate
*prudent
*respectable
*hospitable
*able to teach
*not addicted to wine
*not pugnacious
*gentle
*peaceable
*free from the love of money
*able to manage our own
household well
*able to keep our children under control
with dignity
*not conceited
*able to take care of the church of God
*not falling into the condemnation of the
devil
*good reputation outside of church
*not falling into the snare of the devil
*dignified
*not double-tongued
*not fond of sordid gain
*holding to the mystery of the faith with a
clear conscience
*not malicious gossips
*faithful in all things
For Your sake, Jesus~”
