Galatians 4 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Galatians 4.

Meditate on verse 9.

But now that you have come to know God,

 or rather to be known by God,

how is it that you turn back to the weak and worthless elemental things,

 to which you desire to be enslaved all over again?

If you are in Christ, you are known by God. Let that truth soak in for a moment. Now think about the most important person alive today. Can you imagine knowing and being known by that person?

As a believer, you are known intimately by God Almighty. This kind of knowing means knowing intimately like a husband and wife know each other. This is amazingly freeing truth!

Paul wanted the believers in Galatia to know they were loved and known by God; adhering to religious ritual and the commands of men would not make God know or love them any better. There were people in the Galatian churches who said Christians had to keep parts of the Old Testament law to be right with God.

Paul wrote this letter to continue discipling the believers who were still children in their faith. They needed to grow and mature in Christ.

Pray Galatians 4:19 over those for whom you are laboring as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

Galatians 3 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Galatians 3.

Meditate on verses 6 and 9.

Even so Abraham believed God,

and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.

So then those who are of faith

are blessed with Abraham the believer.

There was one time in the Bible when Abraham was declared righteous. Abraham was 76 years old, and God made promises to him. After God declared His promises, Abraham “believed in the LORD, and He reckoned it to him as righteousness” (Genesis 15:6). God declared Abraham to be right with God because Abraham believed God.

Approximately 40 years later, Abraham showed great faith in God by being willing to sacrifice Isaac. Interestingly, God did not credit him with righteousness for such a noble deed because Abraham was already righteous. Abraham was righteous because God is righteous. Paul wanted the Galatian Christians to understand that truth about salvation. God wants you to understand it, too. Salvation is begun and completed by the Spirit of God. You must believe God in order to be saved, to be declared righteous. You are a child of God through faith in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:26). What the Spirit started in you is perfected by the Spirit living inside you (Galatians 3:3).

Pray Galatians 3:6, 9, and 27 over someone for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, may __________ be blessed like Abraham the believer.

 Let them believe You, so they can be declared righteous.

 May they be baptized (immersed and identified) into You.

 Let them clothe themselves with You, Christ.

Galatians 2 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Galatians 2.

Meditate on verse 20.

I have been crucified with Christ;

and it is no longer I who live,

but Christ lives in me;

and the life which I now live in the flesh

I live by faith in the Son of God,

Who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

Oh the challenges of Jews and Gentiles in one body. Early church leaders such as: Paul, James (the brother of Christ), Peter (also called Cephas), and Barnabas had their hands full!

Paul wrote that Peter had been eating with Gentiles until men from the Jerusalem church showed up. Peter feared what these Jewish Christians would think of him for this. He was aloof to the Gentiles so he could impress the Jews. Paul called him out on his hypocrisy and reminded his readers that salvation is through faith in Christ alone and not through keeping the Law.

This is an encouraging chapter from Scripture because you, like Peter, make foolish decisions that you later regret. Yet you, like Peter, are still loved and able to be used by God. The early Christian church struggled to integrate Jews and Gentiles, yet God of the impossible made it work. Your church may be struggling with groups that are not getting along. Bring your difficulties to Jesus. He wants His bride to be unified.

Pray Galatians 2:20 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, please let _______ and me have this attitude:

We have been crucified with Christ;


and it is no longer we who live, but Christ lives in us;

 and the life we now live in the flesh
we live by faith in the Son of God,

Galatians 1 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read Galatians 1.

Meditate on verses 15-16a.

But when God, who had set me apart

even from my mother’s womb

 and called me through His grace

was pleased to reveal His Son in me

so that I might preach Him…

As Paul preached salvation by grace, Judaizers (Jews who embraced Christianity yet taught that some of the Law, including circumcision, still must be observed to really be saved) followed him preaching a gospel contrary to the truth (Galatians 1:9). Paul wrote this letter to the church in Galatia to counter false teaching and to proclaim righteous freedom through faith in Christ.

Paul knew God freed him from sin so he could live the rest of his life for Christ. Paul was confident of God’s call in his life: to tell others about the grace of God and the freedom from sin through Jesus Christ.

God set you apart from your mother’s womb for the same purpose. His plan for you is to be rescued from sin, to be saved to Christ, and to tell others about the amazing life God has for them.

Pray Galatians 1:3-5 over someone you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“God, my Father, and my LORD Jesus Christ,

 extend Your grace and peace to __________ .

You gave Yourself for their sins.

According to Your will and for Your glory,

rescue them from this present evil age.

For the sake of Your name, Jesus~”

2 Corinthians 13 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read 2 Corinthians 13.

Meditate on verse 5.

Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith;

examine yourselves!

Or do you not recognize this about yourselves,

 that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?

Paul planned to visit the church at Corinth for a third time. They needed to grow up in Christ. Paul did not want to use severity when he came to Corinth, but he would spare no one if sin continued to abound in this church (2 Corinthians 13:2, 10). Paul commanded each member to examine themself to make sure they were really believers. They should not be abiding in sin if they were abiding in Christ.

Proof of being a Christian is Christ in you. As a believer, you abide in Christ rather than remaining in the sins of your old life. God exhorts you. Examine yourself! Is Christ in you? Does Jesus define who you are or does sin define you?

Pray 2 Corinthians 13:11 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, let ________ and me rejoice, be made complete,

be comforted, be like-minded, and live in peace.

 God of love and peace be with us.

2 Corinthians 12 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read 2 Corinthians 12.

Meditate on verse 9a.

And He has said to me,

“My grace is sufficient for you,

for power is perfected in weakness.”

The church in Corinth was a mess. Paul wanted to come visit these Christians, but he was afraid when he arrived, he would find strife, jealousy, angry tempers, disputes, slanders, gossip, arrogance, and disturbances (2 Corinthians 12:20). Paul said that many who had sinned in the past had not repented of their impurity, immorality, and sensuality. Their unrepentant hearts caused them to engage in other sins like strife, jealousy, and angry tempers.

What is going on in and around you? Are there disputes, gossip, and arrogance? Ask the Holy Spirit to convict you of unconfessed sins from your past that might be leading to disturbances in your present.

Pray 2 Corinthians 12:9 and 20-21 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman.

“Christ, _______and I need Your power to dwell in us.

LORD, I repent of the impurity, immorality, and sensuality

 I practiced in the past.


Please convict _________ to do the same.


Let the strife, jealousy, angry tempers, disputes,

slanders, gossip, arrogance, and disturbances cease.

2 Corinthians 11 ~ Praying God's Word

Please read 2 Corinthians 11.

Meditate on verse 14.

No wonder, for even Satan

disguises himself as an angel of light.

The church had been in earthly existence approximately 22 years when Paul wrote this letter to the Christians in Corinth. In that short amount of time, there were already people preaching a different Jesus, a different spirit, and a different gospel. Times have not changed, and there are still plenty of cults and world religions that preach differently; often the preaching is based on revelations by an angel of light.

Do not be deceived! Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. He never was and never will be an angel of light. In fact the Bible does not mention an angel of light. Jesus is the Light. Satan pretends to be an angel of light, so he can trick people into false christs, false spirits, false scripture, and false teaching. Hundreds of thousands of people have believed the father of lies (John 8:44). Are you one of them? Do you know someone who has been led astray by the liar, Satan, who has no truth in him (John 8:44)?

Pray 2 Corinthians 11:3 over yourself and those for whom you stand guard as a faithful, prayerful watchman (Isaiah 62:6-7).

“LORD, do not let _________ and me be like Eve

who was deceived by the craftiness of the serpent.

 May our minds not be led astray
from

the simplicity and purity of devotion to You, Christ.
